The last 30 years of Inter Milan jersey history & timeline

Inter Milan stands out as one of the most stylish football clubs globally. Over the years, it has given birth to some of the most memorable and iconic Serie A jerseys ever witnessed. Whether it was during their collaborations with renowned sportswear brands like Umbro and Nike, the club managed to churn out kits that became fan favorites and staples in football fashion history. Moreover, their association with Pirelli as the jersey sponsor has added an extra layer of glamour and fame. Pirelli, with its long-standing presence on the Inter Milan jerseys, has become a name synonymous with the club and is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated sponsors in the entire footballing realm.

1990-1991 Inter Milan jersey

In 1990/91, Inter Milan’s jerseys were made by UHL sport, a German company that supplied kits to several European teams like Bologna and Bordeaux in the early ’90s. The sponsor was Italian baked goods brand Misura. The home jersey had thick blue and black stripes with a nice collar. The away jersey was white with diagonal blue and black stripes on the chest.

At the start of the season, Inter, with World Cup-winning Germans Lothar Matthäus and Jürgen Klinsmann, were Serie A title favorites. The two scored 30 goals combined. Inter finished 3rd, behind AC Milan and Sampdoria. But they won the UEFA Cup in 1990/91, bouncing back from early deficits against Rapid Wien and Aston Villa to beat Roma in the final.

1991-1992 Inter Milan jersey

1991 92 inter milan jerseys

In 1991/92, Umbro became the jersey maker and crafted an iconic collection. The home shirt had lighter blue and black stripes with a button-up collar. The away was all white, with a blue-black diagonal pattern on the shoulder. There was also a yellow third jersey, with a pattern spreading from the Umbro logo. All three had Fitgar, a ’90s sports drink, as sponsor.

Inter lost manager Giovani Trappotoni to Juventus and it hurt. They went through two managers and dropped to 8th, missing out on Europe for the first time since the ’70s. Midfielder Desideri was axed mid-season for taunting manager Suarez in a celebration. Klinsmann’s good form was the lone bright spot.

1992-1993 Inter Milan jersey

1992 93 inter milan jerseys

In 1992/93, the home jersey got a minor tweak. Its blue and black stripes were a bit thinner compared to the previous season. Otherwise, the jerseys were like last year’s, only with a new sponsor, Fiorucci, the Italian fashion brand.

After a letdown in 91/92, Inter sold Klinsmann and Matthaus back to Germany. They then put money into Igor Shalimov and Rubén Sosa. These two were crucial as Inter climbed back near the top. Under Osvaldo Bagnoli, Inter finished second, just behind Milan. Sosa scored 20 goals that season.

1993-1994 Inter Milan jersey

1993 94 inter milan jerseys

In the 1993/94 season, the club kept the home and third jerseys from the previous season. However, they made some changes to the away jersey. The away jersey was still white, but the collar changed from black to blue, and two diagonal black and blue stripes were added as a sash across the jersey. The Fiorucci sponsor on the away jersey was changed to black with gold outlining.
In the 1993/94 season, Inter experienced a significant decline in the league, finishing 13th, their lowest ever league position. The club signed Dennis Bergkamp, a forward from Ajax who had been making a mark in the Eredivisie. Bergkamp quickly adapted to Inter Milan, scoring 18 goals in his first season and 8 in the UEFA Cup. His efforts led Inter to the final, where they defeated Casino Salzburg.

1994-1995 Inter Milan jersey

1994 95 inter milan jerseys

In the 1994/95 season, the club opted not to use a third jersey and kept the same away jersey as the previous season. The home jersey received a slight update. The stripes were thicker, and the collar was also thicker. The blue used in the home was a bit darker, closer to the traditional Inter blue color.

In the 1994/95 season, Ottavio Bianchi was appointed manager. After a disappointing 1993/94 campaign, Inter managed to climb back up to the top six. Although the club didn’t win any silverware this season, they managed to stabilize. Ruben Sosa and Dennis Bergkamp had another solid season. The club reached the quarter – finals of the Copa Italia and were knocked out in the first round of the UEFA Cup by Aston Villa.

1995-1996 Inter Milan jersey

1995 96 inter milan jerseys

In 1995/96, one of the most iconic jersey sponsorship partnerships began when Pirelli signed on with Inter Milan. The home jersey was nearly identical to last season, with a darker blue and the Pirelli logo replacing Fiorucci. The away jersey was green for the first time in the club’s history, featuring dark and light green contrasting stripes. The third jersey resembled a traditional Inter Milan away kit, with a white base and blue and black details, and the club crest was used as a pattern throughout the jersey.

This season, the club sold Dennis Bergkamp to Arsenal but made some impressive signings of their own. Paul Ince, Roberto Carlos, and Javier Zanetti joined in the summer. The club finished seventh, once again failing to keep up with the top teams in the league. They had three managers in one season. Roy Hodgson was brought in in October to steady the ship after leaving Switzerland’s national team. The club had a decent run in the Copa Italia but narrowly missed out on the final, being knocked out by Fiorentina in the semi – finals.

1996-1997 Inter Milan jersey

1996 97 inter milan jerseys

In 1996/97, the club once again adopted thinner stripes similar to those in the 1992/93 season. For the first time in the club’s history, the Inter Milan club crest moved to the center, along with the Umbro logo. The placement of the club crest and logo on the away jersey was the same as on the home jersey. The away jersey was white, featuring a blue and black horizontal stripe across the jersey with a gold Pirelli logo. The third jersey was gold, inspired by the early 90s, with two black horizontal stripes running down from the shoulder to the bottom of the jersey and the words F.C. Internationale written in gold.

Roy Hodgson’s first full season in charge was quite successful. Inter finished third in the league, which was their best league finish in four years. The club also reached the semi – final of the Copa Italia, losing on penalties to Napoli. The club made another European final but couldn’t win any silverware, again losing on penalties, this time to Shalke. Despite the relative success, Hodgson let his contract expire and moved to Blackburn Rovers. He is fondly remembered by Inter fans as he set the club up for future success.

1997-1998 Inter Milan jersey

1997 98 inter milan jerseys

In 1997/98, the club returned to a home jersey with slightly thicker blue and black stripes. The detailing resembled last season’s third jersey, with F.C. Internationale written in grey on the black stripes. The away shirt had the same colors as last season, but the blue and black stripes ran vertically down the left – hand side of the jersey and the same pattern on the left sleeve. The third jersey of this season is highly sought after by collectors. It was a dark grey/blue color with black horizontal stripes, light blue highlights, and yellow Pirelli, Umbro, and Inter logos.

In 1997/98, the club made a big move by signing 20 – year – old Brazilian Ronaldo for a world – record fee. This put them back among the top clubs in Europe. The club narrowly missed out on the Serie A title, finishing 5 points behind Juventus. Ronaldo proved his worth that season, scoring 35 goals and leading the team to the UEFA Cup final. They faced fellow Italians Lazio, who they had failed to beat in the league that season. Inter won comfortably, with Ronaldo, Zanetti, and Zamorano scoring.

1998-1999 Inter Milan jersey

1998 99 inter milan jerseys

In 1998/99, Umbro’s seven – year tenure with Inter Milan came to an end as Nike took over and has remained with the club to this day. The first Nike home jersey was not too different from the previous Umbro jerseys, but the club crest moved back to the left – hand side of the chest. The away jersey was white again with a black collar, and had a blue line above the Pirelli logo and a black line below the Pirelli logo. The third jersey was dark blue with a black stripe across the middle of the shirt, and a white line between the blue base and the black stripe.

The club’s title drought extended to 10 seasons after another chaotic and disappointing season in Serie A. There were 4 managers this season: Luigi Simoni until November, Mircea Lucescu until March, Castellini took over as caretaker until Roy Hodgson came back to take over caretaker duties. Inter finished 8th in Serie A and was plagued by Ronaldo’s injury issues, with him only playing 19 games for the season.

1999-2000 Inter Milan jersey

1999 00 inter milan jerseys

In the 1999/00 season, Nike introduced a new home jersey for Inter Milan. The blue and black stripes were reconfigured, with the blue stripe placed in the middle of the jersey for the first time, and the collar was ditched for the first time ever. The away jersey was all white with blue trimming, and the third jersey was yellow with a collar and blue and black highlights. All jerseys featured the new club crest, which replaced the previous one that had been in use for 10 years.

After a poor season, Inter made a significant move by purchasing Christian Vieri from Lazio, breaking the transfer record once again for a striker. Vieri and Ronaldo started the season with great enthusiasm, but both were sidelined due to injuries. Ronaldo played only 8 games, and Vieri played 24. Despite these setbacks, Inter managed to finish fourth in Serie A, with Roberto Baggio playing his last season at the club. Inter also reached the final of the Copa Italia but lost to Vieri’s former club, Lazio, with a 2 – 1 aggregate score.

2000-2001 Inter Milan jersey

2000 01 inter milan jerseys

In the 2000/01 season, Inter Milan’s home jersey had a thick collar and mostly black sleeves. The blue and black stripes were similar to those of the previous year. The away jersey was very similar to last year but had a thicker light blue collar. The club’s third jersey that season was orange, a variation of the gold color the club had previously used for away and third shirts.

This season Inter finished fifth in Serie A, relying on Vieri and Robbie Keane for goals as Ronaldo was absent for the whole season. The club was knocked out early in the Champions League and in the quarter – finals of the Copa Italia by Parma, who thrashed them 6 – 1.

2001-2002 Inter Milan jersey

2001 02 inter milan jerseys

The 2001/02 Nike Inter Milan home jersey reintroduced the collar and featured gold piping along the sides. The away jersey was white with a light blue pattern on the chest and sleeves. The third jersey was orange, with an open V – neck collar and a horizontal line pattern throughout.
In the 2001/02 season, Inter Milan began with a blistering start. They lost only one of their first 14 games, with Christian Vieiri demonstrating his goal – scoring prowess by netting 25 goals in 28 matches. As the season reached its final game, Inter needed to win to claim the title. They scored twice in the first half, but Lazio managed to equalize both times not long after. In the second half, Lazio added two more goals, causing Inter to drop to third place and miss out on their first title in over a decade.

2002-2003 Inter Milan jersey

2002 03 inter milan jerseys

In the 2002/03 season, Nike reverted the stripes to their original format, with the black stripe positioned in the middle of the jersey. The away jersey paid clear homage to the 94/95 Umbro away jersey, featuring a black and blue sash across the jersey, this time stretching diagonally from the opposite shoulder. The third jersey was yellow, a traditional third for Inter dating back to the early ’90s.

At the start of the season, Ronaldo left Inter for Real Madrid after a few injury – plagued years in Italy. Inter brought in River Plate legend Hernan Crespo to replace Ronaldo and play upfront with Vieri. Crespo was crucial to Inter’s Champions League campaign, scoring 9 goals and leading the Italians to the semi – final where they were knocked out by cross – town rival AC Milan on away goals. The team also finished second in the league, coming close once again to breaking the title drought, trailing only Juventus.

2003-2004 Inter Milan jersey

2003 04 inter milan jerseys

In the 2003/04 season, the home jersey returned to having the blue stripe in the middle of the jersey, getting rid of the yellow highlights while remaining fairly similar overall. The away shirt was yellow this time, with lighter yellow horizontal stripes across the front of the jersey. The third shirt for this season was last year’s away jersey with the blue and black sash.

Inter continued their pattern of starting slow and sacking managers. Hector Cupert lasted only until October despite having a great previous season. Alberto Zaccheroni took over and guided the side to a fourth – place finish, securing a spot in the Champions League by a point over Parma. Christian Vieri once again was the star player, scoring another 17 goals in all competitions.

2004-2005 Inter Milan jersey

2004 05 inter milan jerseys

In the 2004/05 season, all Inter Milan jerseys were Nike T90 template jerseys used across Europe that season, including those of Barcelona and Manchester United. The home jersey was inspired by the 97/98 jersey, with the club crest moving into the middle for the first time since then and the Nike swoosh high on the right shoulder, similar to where the Umbro logo was. The away jersey was white with blue highlights, and the third jersey was also based on the 97/98 season when the club won the UEFA Cup.

Inter made another managerial change, bringing in Roberto Mancini. They had another decent season in Serie A, finishing third but still far from Juventus, who won the league again. The club had a good run in the Champions League as well, making it to the quarter – final but being knocked out by rival AC Milan again. Inter managed to break a 15 – year domestic trophy drought, winning the Copa Italia with a 3 – 0 win over Roma.

2005-2006 Inter Milan jersey

2005 06 inter milan jerseys

In the 2005/06 season, Inter Milan’s home jersey was similar to the previous season but had the blue and black stripes reversed. The away jersey was inspired by the classic 1996/97 Umbro away jersey, featuring two horizontal blue and black stripes across the shirt’s stomach. Inter used the same third shirt as last season for European matches, making it one of the rarest shirts in the club’s history.

After a chaotic few seasons off the pitch, Inter decided to stick with Mancini at the start of the new season. This proved to be the right decision as the club’s performance on the pitch was almost identical to last season. The club won the Copa Italia final against Roma again and reached the quarter – final of the Champions League. In Serie A, Inter finished third behind AC Milan and Juventus, who were disqualified, handing Inter Milan their first league title in 17 years.

2006-2007 Inter Milan jersey

2006 07 inter milan jerseys

In the 2006/07 season, the home jersey of Inter Milan introduced a white collar for the first time in the jersey’s history. The club crest moved back to the left side of the chest. The away jersey was inspired by the 1999/00 away jersey, featuring a white base with blue trimming. The same third jersey was used for the third consecutive season.
With Juventus’ relegation and Milan’s and Fiorentina’s restrictions due to the Calciopoli scandal, Inter Milan became the favorite for the title after signing Zlatan Ibrahimović, Patrick Vieira, and Maicon. The club went on a 17 – match winning streak and won the league by a whopping 22 points, losing only 1 game throughout the entire season. After beating Roma in the Copa Italia final in the previous two seasons, Roma got their revenge, defeating Inter in the third final the two sides had played in three years.

2007-2008 Inter Milan jersey

2007 08 inter milan jerseys

In the 2007/08 season, Nike commemorated Inter Milan’s centenary with the home and away jerseys. The home jersey featured a traditional blue and black vertical striped shirt with ‘1908 – 2008’ and ‘100 ANNI INTER’ written around a new club crest. The away jersey had the flag of Milan, a red cross covering the entire jersey. The Pirelli logo shrank down and was placed beneath the crest on the left side of the chest for the first time.

Roberto Mancini led the club into the 2007/08 season, with the club at its most stable in a long time. Inter went on to win their third consecutive Serie A title after a 17 – year title drought, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring 22 goals for the season. The club was eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16, losing to Liverpool 3 – 0 on aggregate. Inter also lost the Copa Italia to Roma again, which led to Mancini being dismissed despite having won three Serie A titles in a row.

2008-2009 Inter Milan jersey

2008 09 inter milan jerseys

In the 2008/09 season, Inter Milan and Nike marked their consecutive third title with golden highlights on the home jersey, including the Pirelli logo. The away jersey was relatively simple, all white with a black Pirelli logo and Nike swoosh.

Jose Mourinho was brought in from Chelsea after Roberto Mancini’s sacking. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a 17 – year – old Mario Balotelli led the goal – scoring with a combined 39 goals. Jose led Inter to a historic fourth consecutive title, a feat not achieved since Torino in the 1940s. They were knocked out in the round of 16 again, this time by Manchester United, and in the semi – final of the Copa Italia by Sampdoria.

2009-2010 Inter Milan jersey

2009 10 inter milan jerseys

In the 2009/10 season, the Nike home jersey presented a much more modern look and fit compared to previous jerseys. The flag of Milano was printed on the inside of the jersey, and the colors of the Italian flag surrounded the Inter crest. The away jersey was a throwback to the 1996/97 jersey, last used to inspire the 2nd jersey in the 2005/06 season. It had a plain white collar and blue trimming on the sleeves.

The 2009/10 season for Inter Milan was perhaps the best and most successful in the club’s history, justifying the arrival of Jose Mourinho. The squad was filled with quality players like Zanetti, Sneijder, Eto’o, Samuel, Julio Cesar, and Diego Milito. The club won Serie A, achieving five consecutive titles for the first time ever, a feat only since replicated by Juventus. Inter Milan also defeated Roma in the Copa Italia final in their fifth meeting in six years in the competition’s final. Additionally, the team had an outstanding Champions League campaign, beating Barcelona and Chelsea on their way to the final where they faced Bayern Munich. Diego Milito’s double goal secured a historic treble and Champions League win, the first time the club had won the European Cup since 1965 and the first and only treble for any club in Serie A.

2010-2011 Inter Milan jersey

2010 11 inter milan jerseys

In the 2010/11 season, the Inter Milan home jersey underwent the most significant change in its history. Nike experimented with the design of the blue and black stripes, giving the shirt a fresh and unique look. The away jersey also featured a bold design, with Il Biscone (The Serpent) making its debut on a jersey for the first time. The Biscone comes from the coat of arms of the Visconti family who ruled over Milan during the Renaissance in Italy.

Jose Mourinho was lured away by Real Madrid after the success of the 2009/10 season. The club then brought in Rafa Benetiz, who had left Liverpool. After winning five consecutive Serie A titles, the club fell short in the league, finishing six points behind rival AC Milan. Inter was knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter – finals, losing to Shalke 7 – 5 on aggregate. However, the club still managed to win some silverware, beating Palermo in the Copa Italia final.

2011-2012 Inter Milan jersey

2011 12 inter milan jerseys

This season, the Inter Milan home jersey made a return to the traditional stripes, marking the first time since 2007 that the collar was brought back. The home shirt bore resemblance to the 97/98 jersey, featuring thinner stripes and a black collar. The design of the away jersey was inspired by the 93/94 jersey, a style that Nike often references, as seen in their designs back in 02/03 as well.

As the 2010/11 season unfolded, Rafa Benitez was sacked before the season’s end. This led Inter Milan to revert to their old patterns of instability, with three managers taking charge throughout the season, Claudio Renieri being among them. The team’s performance in Serie A was far from satisfactory, finishing sixth, which was the club’s worst season since 1998/99. In the Copa Italia, the club had its worst run since the early 2000s, being knocked out in the quarter – final. Their performance in the Champions League was equally disheartening, failing to make significant progress. However, Diego Milito emerged as the silver lining of the season, scoring 26 goals across all competitions, his consistent efforts standing out as a positive aspect of the club’s otherwise challenging season.

2012-2013 Inter Milan jersey

2012 13 inter milan jerseys

In the 2012/13 season, the home jersey of Inter Milan underwent a significant transformation compared to the previous season. The stripes became much thicker, and the collar was removed, bearing resemblance to the jersey from the 1999/00 season. The away jersey, for the first time in its history, had a red base. The only other instance of red on an Inter shirt was the 2007/08 away jersey, which was based on the flag of Milan.

This was a tough year for Inter. They had their worst finish since 1993/94, with 9th place and a negative goal difference. The team was knocked out in the Round of 16 in the Europa League by Tottenham and Gareth Bale. Inter continued their rivalry with Roma in the Copa Italia. In a tense semi – final, Roma emerged victorious with a 5 – 2 aggregate score. Rodrigo Palacio was signed from Genoa and had a good season for the club, scoring 22 goals in all competitions.

2013-2014 Inter Milan jersey

2013 14 inter milan jerseys

In the 2013/14 season, Inter Milan’s home jersey had a new look for its famous blue and black stripes. The blue was darker and the design was wider, commemorating Inter winning the Cup Winners’ Cup 50 years ago. The away jersey had a white base with bright blue sleeve trimming, a collar, and a Pirelli logo similar to the 2006/07 and 2000/01 away jerseys. The club used the previous year’s red away jersey as the third kit this season.

Under new manager Walter Mazzarri, the club improved, finishing 5th and just missing out on a Champions League spot. The side was disappointing in the Copa Italia, losing to Udinese and being knocked out in the round of 16. This season was Javier Zanetti’s 19th and final season at the club after debuting in 1995. The club also signed Mauro Icardi from Sampdoria, and the 21 – year – old scored 9 goals in the league, second only to Palacio with 17.

2014-2015 Inter Milan jersey

2014 15 inter milan jerseys

For the first time in the club’s history, Inter Milan chose a pinstripe design instead of the traditional black and blue stripes. The jersey had a black base with blue pinstripes and a button – up collar. The away jersey was white with grey horizontal stripes forming a cross pattern for the flag of Milan, with red touches inspired by the 2007/08 away shirt.

Inter Milan had another disappointing season in Serie A, slipping back down to 8th. The club didn’t fare well in cup competitions, but Mauro Icardi showed himself as one of Europe’s top young strikers, scoring 27 times in all competitions and finishing as Serie A top scorer.

2015-2016 Inter Milan jersey

2015 16 inter milan jerseys
2015 16 inter milan jerseys

This season, after two seasons of creative home jerseys, Nike reverted to the traditional stripes for Inter Milan. The home jersey features a blue collar. The away jersey is inspired by the 1990/91 away shirt to mark the 25th anniversary of the season when the club won its first UEFA Cup. This away shirt is unique as it’s the only kit ever to have the Driver sponsor instead of Pirelli. The third jersey is a yellow gradient and part of Nike’s ‘night rising’ template, which is also used for Manchester City, Barcelona, and Galatasary.

In the 2015/16 season, Roberto Mancini returned to take charge of Inter Milan. Mancini brought in Jovetic, Kondogbia, Ivan Perisic, and Alex Telles. The team initially struggled to gel. However, they managed to get it together quite quickly. By Christmas, they were at the top of the table. They ultimately finished fourth, achieving their best points tally in five years. Mauro Icardi scored 16 goals in the league, the highest at the club.

2016-2017 Inter Milan jersey

2016 17 inter milan jerseys

In the 2016/17 season, the home jersey of Inter Milan featured a circular pattern throughout the blue and black stripes, with solid black sleeves similar to those in the 2012/13 season. The away jersey was another white kit with blue and black details on the sleeves, similar to the shirt from 2013/14. The third jersey was yet another template that Nike had used for other clubs that season, such as Manchester City, Barcelona, and PSG. The shirt had a blue base that gradually faded to green from top to bottom.

At the start of the season, Roberto Mancini left the club by mutual consent. The club brought in Frank de Boer, the Ajax manager who didn’t speak Italian. Predictably, de Boer struggled and was gone by November, replaced by Stefano Pioli. The team had a string of seven consecutive wins in the middle of the season and finished seventh, which could have been much worse.

2017-2018 Inter Milan jersey

2017 18 inter milan jerseys

For the first time in the club’s history, the Inter Milan home jersey presented stripes of varying widths, drawing inspiration from the Milan skyline. The away jersey had a white base with one blue sleeve and one black sleeve. The third jersey was yet another Nike template, a grey camouflage jersey used for Barcelona, PSG, Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, and AS Roma.

Following a disappointing finish in the 2016/17 season, Stefano Pioli was sacked, and Luciano Spalletti took charge. Inter started the season with an unbeaten streak in the first 15 games of the league but then endured eight games without a win, making for an inconsistent season for the Nerazzuri. The team ultimately finished fourth in Serie A and reached the quarter – final of the Copa Italia, with Mauro Icardi emerging as the top scorer in the league, netting 29 goals.

2018-2019 Inter Milan jersey

2018 19 inter milan jerseys

The 2018/19 home jersey paid homage to the first Nike home jersey, commemorating two decades of the partnership between Inter Milan and Nike. The design included a graphic between the stripes that resembled snake scales, a nod to Inter’s ‘Il Biscione’. The away jersey also sported the snake scale design in white and grey, complemented by a blue and black collar. The third jersey for the 2018/19 season was a unique take on Milan’s city center, with a distorted map on the front and the flag of Milano, reminiscent of the 2007/08 away jersey.

Luciano Spalleti, who was given a rare second season at the helm, brought in players like Radja Nainggolan and Lautaro Martinez. Inter Milan once again finished fourth in the league and was eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League. The team’s performance in the Copa Italia was disappointing, as they had not reached the final in 8 years.

2019-2020 Inter Milan jersey

2019 20 inter milan jerseys

For the 2019/20 season, Inter Milan’s home jersey showcased a unique and eye – catching design. The sponsor was surrounded by diagonal stripes that added an element of dynamism, while vertical stripes ran across the remainder of the jersey, creating a bold and distinctive look.
The away jersey, for the first time, donned a teal color. This was a nod to the goalkeeper kit that Julio Cesar wore during the club’s victorious treble – winning season in 2009/10. The third jersey, in black with yellow accents, drew inspiration from Pirelli Formula 1 tyres.

In 2019/20, after a decade long drought without a Serie A title, Antonio Conte was appointed as the club’s new manager. The club invested significantly in Romelu Lukaku, who delivered an outstanding performance with 34 league goals. This performance brought the club within reach of the league title, ultimately finishing second, just a point behind Juventus. The club also made progress in the Coppa Italia, reaching the semi – final, marking the furthest they had advanced in 5 seasons.
